Industrial Mechanic Water Treatment
Salary:
$93,038 - $122,595 per year
Location:
Diemer (Yorba Linda, CA), Jensen (Granada Hills, CA), Lake Skinner (Winchester, CA), Mills (Riverside, CA), and Weymouth (La Verne, CA)
Job Summary:
As a Technician IV (Mechanical – Water Treatment), you’ll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex mechanical systems at large-scale treatment facilities. This includes chemical feed systems, mixers, large pumps, valves, and more. You’ll ensure optimal plant performance while supporting essential water treatment operations.
Responsibilities include:
Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, valves, chemical feed systems, and rotating equipment
Maintaining large-scale treatment assets such as flocculators, filters, and sedimentation basins
Using technology for predictive maintenance to optimize equipment uptime
Testing and monitoring equipment effectiveness in treatment process
Participating in outages, shutdowns, and other emergency situations

Job Summary:
As a Technician IV (Mechanical – Conveyance & Distribution), you’ll work along Metropolitan’s massive aqueduct system, pumping plants, treatment facilities, and underground pipelines. You’ll maintain and repair a wide variety of equipment that moves water across hundreds of miles — including valves, pumps, motors, and other equipment.
Responsibilities include:
Installing, maintaining, and repairing large-scale conveyance equipment
Maintaining large scale infrastructure such as aqueducts, feeders, canals, tunnels, and resevoirs
Using state-of-the-art technology to perform predictive and preventative maintenance
Performing flow changes, adjustments, dewatering, disinfecting, and refilling operations during outages
Supporting emergency maintenance and system shutdowns
Minimum Qualifications (for both roles)
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED
6+ years of journey-level experience in industrial mechanical maintenance
OR the attainment of journey level skills through a recoginzed mechanical trade training program

Registrations Requirements
License:
Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
Employees in this position may be required to obtain and maintain the following certifications, licensing and registrations:
Valid Driver's License from state of residency equivalent to a California Class A and/or B with appropriate commercial license endorsements
Crane Certifications
Forklift Certification
Manlift Certification
Welding Certifiation
Chemical Responder Certification
Water Distribution Certification
Expectations of Hours of Service, Emergency and Stand-by Service
Employees in this position may be required to work off-shift hours and/or stand-by service to address operational needs and emergencies as required. May be required to work extended periods away from the normal reporting location.
